| A Choice
of the Following Makes Up a Multi-Skills Day |
| Special Forces
Weapons Experience
This is an introduction to the weapons favoured by the
SAS, and is the one section that must be included in
any Special Forces event. Without this section none of
the others will make much sense!
The weapons used are all Air Soft, which are totally
safe, and include the MI6, M4 & M203 rifles, MP5
sub-machine gun and the Beretta 92f pistol. Instructions
are given on the basic and advanced skills employed with
these weapons.
Close Quarter Battle Course
Pistol engagements can take place from as close as 2
feet. To survive such an encounter, you must be quick
and very accurate, whilst being certain that the target
you are engaging is the enemy. The pistol is often the
back-up when the primary weapon has failed – drawing
and firing it efficiently is a primary skill learned
by all Special Forces Soldiers.
Jungle Lanes
Here your team trains to move tactically through tangled
undergrowth and trees, searching out the enemy on his
home territory, avoiding ambushes and mines. You must
tune in to the environment, work as a team, be fully
switched on at all times, employ your skills and be ready
to use your M16 quickly and effectively.
Special Forces Room Combat
This is the classic Special Forces building assault executed
with speed, aggression and surprise. Dressed in the full
black assault kit you will experience the adrenaline
rush as you employ the weapons, skills and speed made
famous in the storming of the Iranian Embassy. While
not physically taxing, this event requires determination
and an adventurous spirit!
Hostage Snatch
This is a short & sharp kidnap rescue technique,
perfected by the SAS. The element of surprise is the
key. The snatch team carefully approaches the target
area, then forms up at the target room door. On ‘Go’
the team bursts into the room where the hostage is being
held, engaging and neutralizing any threats. One of the
team members grabs the hostage and leads him/her to safety
along a corridor of supporting gunfire. It’s fast
and it’s furious – can your team beat the
rescue time record?
Ambush
This reproduces a typical Special Forces ambush technique.
It requires great team work if it is to succeed. The
team moves carefully into an ambush position alongside
a track that is known to be used by the enemy. Cut-off
groups and ambush explosive devices are placed whilst
ensuring that any locals travelling along the path do
not com promise the ambush. When an enemy patrol enters
the ambush the trap is sprung.
Vehicle Anti-Ambush Skills
Body Guarding is regular Special Forces work, protecting
VIPs travelling in potentially hostile environments.
Here is the scenario:
The VIP’s vehicle is immobilised in an ambush.
The close protection team, travelling in the backup vehicle,
has to exit their vehicle whilst under fire, take up
defensive positions, put down covering fire, transfer
the VIP from the immobilised vehicle into their vehicle,
then effect a fighting withdrawal once the VIP has escaped
to safety.
Special Forces Sniper Skills
The sniper is a multi-faceted soldier. From providing
super-accurate covering fire as a back for an Assault
Team, to striking targets at ranges of up to a mile,
he must be an expert at infiltration techniques, camouflage
and surviving for long periods alone in a hostile environment.
We give you an insight into these skills!
Final Mission
The event concludes with an all-skills mission involving
everyone, that links all the elements that have been
learned during the day. It requires military precision
if it is to succeed. If you think your team can learn
the skills, follow a complex plan and take the adrenaline
rush then this is for you!
These are brief descriptions of complex tasks. While
great fun they are also excellent team building activities
requiring good communication skills, close teamwork and
the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
